Tantalizing and Fascinating Singaporean Fashion Festival

The Singapore fashion festival is technically known as Audi Fashion Festival Singapore. This event is part and parcel of Asia Fashion Exchange. It usually takes place for a whole week and it entails Audi Star Creation, traditional trade show as well as Asia Fashion Summit. It is worth mentioning that the Asia Fashion Summit is a conference that basically targets Asian retailers.

In 2013, the organizers worked pretty hard to come up with fascinating things. The fashion festival rocked and the attendees got a glimpse of the latest fashion collections from Carolina Herrera, Tsumori Chisato, Hussein Chalayan and many others. It is worth mentioning that if such a fashion show was held in New York, London, Milan or Paris the consumers could not have been given a chance to attend the occasion. It is usually an occasion for select few in the fashion industry. Tjin Lee, who is the founder of Audi Fashion Festival Singapore, pointed out that it is very important to have consumers in the show because they are the ones that are driving the fashion industry in Singapore at the moment. Though they look forward to get where cities like Paris, London and New York are, they have to make use of what they have at the moment. There is a mantra that goes like “a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step”. This is what exactly Singapore fashion industry is doing. They are making best use of every single opportunity they have. Consumers literally ruled the Audi Fashion Festival Singapore.

Audi Fashion Festival Singapore event allows local as well as regional designers to connect with their local customers. Local fashion companies such as Zardoze and Raoul paid for their slots on the schedule while international designers everything is catered for by Audi Fashion Festival and Singapore Tourism Board. Local designers get a chance to closely interact with international designers as well as have their names listed alongside these fashion superstars. This goes a long way to market these local designers in the global frontier.

It was such a fascinating and successful event with over 20,000 attendees up from 13,000 attendees in 2012. This is a clear indication that Singapore fashion industry is growing rapidly and with time it will be able to compete in the same platform with cities such as New York, Paris, Tokyo and London.

HusseinChalayan

To add icing on the cake, an international superstar designer Hussein Chalayan, closed the event with a bang. He was welcomed with a resounding applaud from the audience who were so thrilled by his presence in Audi Fashion Festival Singapore 2013. Hussein Chalayan has been named twice as the British Designer of the year and it was such an honor to have him in Audi Fashion Festival Singapore. The show could not have ended in a better tone than it did.
